♉️ Taurus Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse 10/28: Purging Attachments
This eclipse brings closure to the cycle that began in November 2021
Saturday’s Taurus lunar eclipse is a heavy one.
It is also a full moon, bringing visibility and revelation to the themes of the Taurus-Scorpio eclipse series that began in 2021.
These themes include: worth, value, attachment, pleasure, knowledge, and loyalty.
When I study eclipses, the themes come most alive when I overlay the cosmic events on my real life.
That’s why, instead of focusing on interpretations for these October newsletters, I’m going to give you a Journaling Challenge.
Two weeks ago, we looked at the Libra solar eclipse, which was the second in the new Aries-Libra eclipse series, that started with the Aries solar eclipse on April 20, 2023. The themes of this series are relationships, self, peace, and agency.
By looking at what intentions were set around that April 20 date, you can get a sense of what changes might be emerging for you on the later dates of the series. Go back to that previous email to find those dates.
What will bring extra illumination, though, is to work with the eclipse series that is just now ending. Because it’s still present, you’re still swimming in your eclipse story. Think back to November 2021 and any changes or new beginnings, and how things have progressed? Is there a cycle that’s ending? Is it time to leave—a job, a relationship, a home, a project? Or, are you celebrating the completion of something?
You’ll find the dates of all the eclipses in the Taurus-Scorpio series below. I encourage you to look on your calendar, your emails, your journal, or social media posts to see what was going on for you (internally or externally) in the week surrounding these dates.
Notice what themes or patterns emerge.
Now, a bit about Saturday’s big eclipse.
The moon is conjunct Jupiter, bringing expansion to emotions and inner life. The moon is opposite a Mercury-Mars conjunction and (of course) the sun. Together, Mercury and Mars can bring a dynamic of blurting out harsh words, and in Scorpio, the sign of death/rebirth, can cause real damage. You might experience this dynamic or be around others who are experiencing this.
The antidote is over on the Taurus side.
Rest, connect with nature, put your bare feet on the ground, go outside to watch the sunrise and sunset, drink lots of water, eat delicious and wholesome food.
Eclipses are known for bringing endings and beginnings. You may be currently facing a few surprises (I certainly am!), but the promise of a lunar eclipse is to bring things into the light. If you can get still and quiet, the clarity will come. There is always a way forward.
Journaling Challenge
The dates below are every eclipse in the Taurus-Scorpio series that ends this week.
For each date, look back at your calendar and/or journal.
Write down at least three things (events, calls, new ideas, etc) that were going on within ~2 days on either side of this date.
Do you see any themes or patterns? Recurring people, places, or conflicts? What are of your life were you most involved with at that time?
