🌚 New Moon in Scorpio 11/13 ♏️: Breaking Free
Mars and Uranus amplify a regenerative new start 🚀
Today’s edition of Dandelion Mind marks one full year of publishing on Substack! For those of you who have been with me for every full and new moon: You’ve now explored every section of your birth chart. 🤩 I hope you feel more in tune with the ebbs and flows, and how each of the 12 astrological signs adds its own tone to the moon’s energy.
Be sure to read to the end of this newsletter for an announcement from me on the future of the newsletter!
But first, let’s look at Monday’s new moon in Scorpio.
Scorpio is motivated by depth, truth, and presence. It’s associated with roots, the underworld, and regeneration. A new moon is always a time for setting intentions for a new start, and this one might be more of a psychological fresh page than, say, starting a new project.
The moon is tightly conjunct Mars (assertion, impulse) and opposite Uranus (freedom, change). Mars likes to take action and is associated with the ego. For some, this can mean an angry outburst or conflict, which makes this moon one to handle carefully, but I find most people in my immediate circles have the opposite bias—they need a little Mars energy to assert boundaries and protect their heart.
The opposition to Uranus is a call for freedom. When we look at Uranus in the peaceful, earthy sign of Taurus, opposite the moon-sun-Mars cluster in underworldly Scorpio, a narrative emerges around making a great escape from our own minds.
Still, the Scorpio energy is not what we’re leaving behind. We’re using those regenerative abilities in order to set ourselves free.
I was working on a writing project recently, and as I considered my next step, I realized I was feeling an emotion eerily reminiscent of a teenager picking at acne in the mirror. I was looking for flaws. It takes practice to recognize the difference between revision and attack.
I decided to put the project aside for a few days so I could come back to it with refreshed compassion.
When we see a lot of conflict in the outer world, the seemingly little ways we can do acts of peace, even within ourselves, offer a heavy dose of relief.
If the eclipses in October brought up revelations, this moon is a good time to act.
Announcement
I’m continuing to evolve who I am and what contributions I’m most excited to make in the world. In the coming weeks I will be rethinking what I include in this newsletter.
The next time it comes to you, it might be at a new cadence, with new branding, that’s a better reflection of where I’m headed. You’ll still get astrology, but with the addition of updates on intuition, creativity, and fiction writing.
I recently completed the draft of a novel, which is not only themed around mystical concepts, but also required me to develop my intuitive / psychic connection to write, and I’m eager to share more about that soon.
