Neptune in Aries ♈️
Also: All planets are currently moving direct.
In times of great change, when the status quo drops out, we’re given a choice: To freeze in fear, or lean into faith that whatever is being lost is making way for something better.
I’ve heard spiritual teacher Ram Dass quoted: “Whether this is the first day of the Apocalypse or the first day of the Golden Age, the work remains the same … to love each other and ease as much suffering as possible.”
There are two cosmic patterns pouring energy into the collective right now.
All Planets Direct
From April 12 to May 4, all planets are direct (no retrogrades). For this short window, both clarity and confidence are in full swing.
Neptune in Aries
Neptune entered Aries on March 30, and except for few months retrograde back into Pisces from October to January, it will remain in Aries until 2039. (Add 14 to your age to really let that land.)
What does this mean?
We’re writers here, so let’s analyze with some keywords.
Neptune, the planet, symbolizes the part of the psyche involved.
Neptune keywords:
compassion, imagination, oneness, transcendence, inspiration, confusion, disillusionment, dreams, ecstasy, uncertainty, visionary, ideals, consciousness
Aries, the sign, represents the motivation the planet takes on, like a filter or lens, for the duration of the transit.
Aries keywords:
courage, pioneer, adventure, initiative, selfish, confident, impulsive, daring, restless, direct, loud
Together, a story emerges about our idealism getting ready to hit the ground running.
Since 2011, Neptune was in the sign it rules, Pisces. The spiritual path was like a hall of fun mirrors where every question led to another question. It makes me think of the Evanescence song, “Bring Me to Life”:
How can you see into my eyes like open doors? / Leading you down into my core where I've become so numb / Without a soul my spirit's sleeping somewhere cold / Until you find it there and lead it back home
But now, we find that all the dreaming was preparing us for something.
The energy of Neptune in Aries is more like the Bon Jovi song, “It’s My Life.” (Have you heard the new remake with Pitbull, “Now or Never”? It’s fun.)
It's my life / My heart is like the open highway / Like Frankie [Sinatra] said, "I did it my way" / I just want to live while I'm alive
What makes you feel alive? What does the world need more of?
After so much “I don’t know” it may come as a surprise that you do know, and you’ve accumulated all the necessary skills along the way.
How will you ease suffering? Spread love?
Do it your way.
But remember, this is a 14-year transit. Today we’re just looking to take that first brave step.
