♎️ Libra New Moon & Solar Eclipse: Oct. 14
'tis the season when your weirdest ideas are the ones to bet on 💥
We’re in eclipse season. In astrology, eclipses accelerate fate with surprise endings and new beginnings.
Long before I knew anything about astrology, I met my first serious boyfriend the day of an eclipse. I remember it vividly because we met on a park bench and in a way that felt infused with fate and luck.
By studying my own track record with eclipses, I’ve concluded that they are not guarantees of beneficial change. We have to be active listeners and take action on our intuitive ideas, however weird or insignificant they may seem.
That’s why, instead of focusing on interpretations for these next two newsletters, I’m going to give you a Journaling Challenge.
There are two eclipses in October, and both are in Venus-ruled signs. Venus is the planet of love, money, pleasure, beauty, and relationships.
On Oct. 14, the sun and moon meet in Libra, a sign motivated towards peace and balance.
This week’s eclipse is the second in the Aries-Libra eclipse series. Each series lasts around 18 months. If you think of your life as a novel, each series will have a theme and the big turning points will come on the eclipse dates.
The Oct. 28 eclipse will be the final eclipse in the Taurus-Scorpio series—expect another newsletter from me then on finding closure!
Journaling Challenge
The dates below are every eclipse in the current Aries-Libra series.
For the first two—the one that’s passed and the one we’ve got this week—look back at your calendar and/or journal.
Write down at least three things (events, calls, new ideas, etc) that were going on within ~2 days on either side of this date.
Do you see any themes or patterns? Recurring people, places, or conflicts? What are of your life were you most involved with at that time?

For the remainder of the dates, mark them on your calendar, or subscribe to mine. Set aside 5 min. on these dates to inventory your mind of any weird ideas. I challenge you to take action on at least one!
